The Muhlradl is a friendly family run apartment house located
in the Austrian mountain
village
of
Gosau
, a sunny and wide valley which leads its visitors towards the magnificent
Dachstein Glacier and the highest mountain region within the Inner Salzkammergut.
The region is UNESCO listed as a
Cultural and Natural World Heritage Site due to its natural beauty and
surrounding culture.
Tranquility, relaxation, culture, wellness, and tradition are
the main characteristics of Gosau and the Inner Salzkammergut. Gosau - Dachstein
West is described as “The Island
in the Mountains” with over 140km of uncrowded pistes with something to offer
all level of skiers and guests who just wish to experience a Winter Wonderland.
Our spacious 3 star apartments are ideally located in Gosau
Hintertal with a number of restaurants within walking distance, bakery close by,
magnificent uninterrupted views of the Gosaukamm and forest views to either
side.
Our apartments have excellent self-catering facilities –
but should you wish to indulge yourself whilst on holiday we can also offer
continental breakfast in our breakfast room or in the comfort of your own
apartment. A chalet style option is
also available for larger groups – we can accommodate up to 25 people.
It is very important to us that our guests have a wonderful
holiday experience and, we hope, return to visit us again and again – whether
for skiing, sightseeing, walking, hiking, cycling or to simply relax – “Far
from the Madding Crowd”. We are
delighted that many of our guests do return year after year and each individual
apartment becomes a “home from home”.

Gosau is small Austrian mountain village located in the Inner
Salzkammergut. Surrounded by stunning dramatic mountains and 7,000 years of
history. Gosau has a first class ski
area with over 140kms of tree lined, wide and uncrowded pistes www.dachstein.at.
Tourists travel from all around the around the World to visit
Gosau
Lake
(Gosausee) to see the natural beauty of the reflection of the Dachstein Glacier
in the lake below. Visitors come to
walk, hike, cycle, or just sit back in the lakeside restaurants and mountain
huts (alms) to experience the unspoilt scenery and peaceful environment.
Children are happy to play on the lake-shore or to swim in the clear
waters or to take a boat out around the lake.

Gosau has a range of facilities including a well-stocked
supermarket, post office, banks, a selection of restaurants and hotels,
pizzeria, bars, tourist information centre, swimming pool with sauna and
excellent views, bowling alley, ski hire shops, ski school, toboggan run, summer
cable car, horse riding, two fishing lakes, cycle paths, mountain bike trails
plus of course the Winter skiing facilities which include cable car and chair
lifts from the village, ski hire, ski school, après ski bars.
Gosau is an excellent base for mountain bikers with over
400km of trails. The Salzkammergut
Mountainbike Trophy /www.salzkammergut-trophy.at
passes through Gosau every July attracting many visitors and competitors.
Other attractions include nordic walking, hiking, mountain
climbing (with a choice of routes for all levels), rafting, canyoning, fishing,
diving, swimming, kayaking, jogging, paragliding, hot air ballooning, boat trips
in Gosau lake or nearby Hallstattersee or Wolfgangsee.
You may wish to sample life in the nearby town of
Bad Ischl
- a favourite residence of the Kaiser Franz Josef, who spent over 80 summers
there. Bad Ischl is just 30 minutes away and still celebrates its regal past
with the Lehar Operetta Festival and Kaiserfest each summer.
